| Sunday we kicked off the week in the Empire State training with Ossining FD on Low Angle Rope Rescue. Rope work is a perishable skill—reps matter for those high-risk, low-frequency calls. The morning started with a quick knots and hardware review, then went hands-on with the equipment carried on their rigs. Members worked through proper anchor points, and building 2:1–5:1 systems, and utilizing the Tower Ladder as a high point. This 4-hour session focused on reinforcing core rope skills and real-world application. Big thanks to the Chief Staff and membership of “The O” for having us back. Looking forward to next month’s Live Burn. Need rope rescue training tailored to your equipment? Reach out to Josh to get started. |
