Honored to be part of the Annual New York State Association of Fire Chiefs Conference in Syracuse once again last week. Owner Josh Miller had the opportunity to deliver his "Making the Grab Without Grabbing the Line" program for this 120th Annual Conference.

This class focuses on victim removal and rescue-oriented decision-making when seconds matter. Through real-world fireground experiences, tactical discussions, and practical considerations, we examined ways firefighters can prioritize victim removal while balancing fire attack, staffing limitations, building layout, and changing fire conditions. The goal is simple: get victims out as quickly as possible using sound tactics, aggressive decision-making, and a solid understanding of risk versus reward.

A sincere thank you to the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs for the opportunity to present, and to everyone who attended the class and contributed to the discussion. The questions, stories, and interaction from firefighters across the state made for an outstanding learning experience.

We appreciate everyone who spent part of their conference with us and look forward to continuing the conversation on the fireground.
