This week, members of the Putnam Lake Fire Department hosted Signal 73 Fire Training for a highly relevant program on the growing hazards associated with lithium-ion batteries and electric vehicle incidents.

This was an in-depth awareness class focused not only on EV emergencies, but also on the increasing number of fires and incidents involving everyday lithium-ion powered devices — including:
- E-bikes and scooters
- Power tool batteries
- Energy storage systems
- Consumer electronics
- Electric and hybrid vehicles

Lithium-ion batteries are now everywhere in our communities, and understanding these evolving hazards is essential for today’s fire service.

Thank you to the members of the Putnam Lake Fire Department, for their continued commitment to progressive training and firefighter safety. We would also like to thank the Patterson NY FD, and New Fairfield FD for joining us for this training.

Bryan, who delivers the EV/LI class for us, works in Manhattan, and responds to emergencies involving these hazards on a regular basis. Is your agency in need of this type of training? This is the guy to hear it from!

Contact Josh at Jmiller@signal73fire.com to schedule your training needs!
