We were back in Westchester with a 2-Night instruction of Annual OSHA Refresher Training for the Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department.

Saturday we were back in New York with the members of the Katonah FD for a day focused on extrication and stabilization.

With the arrival of the new Rescue 17, the department has gone all in updating and upgrading its cache of equipment. This past Tuesday night we were back in Westchester for a night of forcible entry with Dobbs Ferry FD, with Irvington FD and a few members from Ardsley FD getting reps in alongside them. Both agencies are ones we’re very close with and are always committed to continuing their training.

Sunday we kicked off the week in the Empire State training with Ossining FD on Low Angle Rope Rescue.

Rope work is a perishable skill—reps matter for those high-risk, low-frequency calls. The morning started with a quick knots and hardware review, then went hands-on with the equipment carried on their rigs.
