Dobbs Ferry & Irvington Forcible Entry Training

This past Tuesday night we were back in Westchester for a night of forcible entry with Dobbs Ferry FD, with Irvington FD and a few members from Ardsley FD getting reps in alongside them. Both agencies are ones we’re very close with and are always committed to continuing their training.

Despite running 3 calls during instruction, all members made it through 3 stations:
• Inward swinging door forcible entry
• Outward swinging door forcible entry
• Saw work cutting simulated roll-down gates and working with our puck lock prop

This was also the first night putting our new prop into service from Vulka Fire Equipment—the Vulka Training System (VTS). Adding equipment like this allows us to continue building more versatile and realistic training for our students. Along with the VTS, we utilized the puck lock prop from Rescue Squad Ironworks and the Blue Door from Firehouse Innovations. Props like these make a difference and keep the training as real as possible.

Training like this is perfect for drill nights—short, focused, and rep-driven. A few hours to get hands on the irons and saws, work through real problems, and build confidence for the next run. Every class can be tailored to your response area—whether you’re seeing mostly residential or dealing with commercial challenges on a regular basis.

If you’re looking to bring this type of training to your department, reach out to Josh and get the process started
