| On Tuesday, June 2nd, members participated in an evening focused on basic Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) operations. The drill began with a review of RIT responsibilities, deployment considerations, and equipment carried on the RIT pack. Firefighters then rotated through hands-on stations covering firefighter packaging, victim movement techniques, air management emergencies, and methods of providing emergency air to a downed firefighter. Members also practiced utilizing the Universal Air Connection (UAC), regulator replacement, and mask changeovers. This is one of a three part series class for Irvington and Dobbs Ferry. Night 1 and 2 being FAST oriented and night 3 being mayday and survival techniques. Thank you to the officers and members of the Irvington Fire Department as well as the Dobbs Ferry Fire Department for their participation and commitment to keeping their skills sharp.
